VMC reviews your education, occupation, language scores, and family ties to recommend the strongest pathway.
Start Assessment →Sri Lankans began arriving in Canada in significant numbers from the 1980s. Today, the community is well-established, educated, and professionally integrated.
The Greater Toronto Area — particularly Scarborough, Markham, and Mississauga — is home to the largest Tamil community outside South Asia. Known as 'Little Jaffna,' Scarborough has Tamil businesses, temples, and cultural organizations.
Sinhalese Sri Lankans are concentrated in the GTA, Ottawa, and Vancouver. Professional networks, Buddhist temples, and cultural associations maintain community ties across Canada.
Sri Lanka has historically produced highly qualified engineers, IT professionals, doctors, accountants, and academics — many of whom have used Express Entry FSW to build careers in Canada.
Sri Lankan IT professionals in Colombo and Kandy — software developers, QA engineers, DevOps specialists — are well-positioned for Express Entry and BC PNP Tech or Ontario OINP Human Capital Priorities streams.
Many established Sri Lankan-Canadians sponsor spouses, parents, and children. Family sponsorship remains one of the most-used immigration pathways for the Sri Lankan community in Canada.
Sri Lankan nurses, pharmacists, and allied health workers are in demand across Canada, particularly in regions with healthcare shortages. AIP (Atlantic provinces) and specific PNP healthcare streams are available options.
VMC matches your profile to the pathway that maximizes speed and success probability.
FSW is the primary pathway for Sri Lankan professionals with overseas skilled work experience. Engineers, IT professionals, finance workers, accountants, and healthcare professionals with TEER 0–3 occupations and IELTS CLB 7+ are eligible. University of Moratuwa CS degrees, University of Colombo commerce degrees, and other Sri Lankan qualifications are consistently assessed positively by WES.
The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program has multiple pathways. The Human Capital Priorities (HCP) stream proactively invites Express Entry candidates in eligible NOC codes — popular among Sri Lankan IT, engineering, and business professionals. The Employer Job Offer stream requires a full-time, permanent offer from an Ontario employer.
For Sri Lankan professionals with lower CRS scores or those seeking PR outside the main urban centres. Designated employers in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, PEI, and Newfoundland can offer a job that triggers AIP eligibility — bypassing the federal Express Entry pool entirely.
If you have a spouse, parent, or child who is a Canadian citizen or PR, family sponsorship may be your fastest pathway. Spousal sponsorship typically takes 12 months for overseas applications. Dependent children can be included at no additional IRCC cost. Parents and grandparents are eligible under PGP (limited annual intake) or the Super Visa for extended visits.
VMC reviews your education, occupation, language scores, and family situation to map the fastest pathway.
WES can take 7–10 weeks during peak periods. VMC advises clients to start their ECA early — ideally before booking IELTS — so the assessment is ready when building the Express Entry profile.
Many Sri Lankan applicants score well in Reading and Listening but score lower in Speaking or Writing. FSW requires CLB 7 in ALL four bands. One low band can disqualify an otherwise strong profile. VMC recommends targeted preparation for weak bands.
Issued by the Department of Immigration and Emigration, Sri Lanka. Takes 4–8 weeks. For applicants who have lived outside Sri Lanka for extended periods, obtaining this certificate can require coordination with Sri Lankan missions abroad.
Sri Lankan engineers (EC/IESL members), nurses (SLNC), and accountants (CASL/ICASL) must apply separately to Canadian provincial licensing bodies. VMC helps clients understand whether to pursue licensing before or after PR.
Many Sri Lankan families have one strong primary applicant and a spouse with limited language scores. VMC assesses whether the spouse's profile should be added to the Express Entry profile or excluded to maximize CRS points.
Sri Lankan job titles (especially in government-linked sectors) may not map directly to Canadian NOC codes. Incorrect NOC code selection is a common error that can lead to refusals. VMC carefully reviews employment letters and job duties for accurate TEER-level mapping.
VMC reviews your occupation, education, language scores, and family situation. VMC estimates your CRS score and recommends the optimal pathway — FSW, PNP, AIP, or family sponsorship.
Book IELTS General Training. Target CLB 9+ (roughly IELTS 7.0 in all four bands) for competitive Express Entry scores. French testing (TEF/TCF) adds up to 50 additional CRS points if you have French skills.
Submit your Sri Lankan degree transcripts to WES. University of Colombo, Moratuwa, Peradeniya, Kelaniya, and SLIIT degrees are all assessable. Allow 7–10 weeks for standard WES processing.
VMC creates your Express Entry profile with correct NOC codes, accurate CRS calculation, and optimization strategies (spouse profile inclusion, provincial nomination targeting).
Once you receive an ITA — from a federal draw or a provincial PNP — you have 60 days to submit your complete PR application. VMC prepares the full package: Sri Lanka PCC, WES, employment letters, police clearances from all countries of residence.
IRCC processes FSW applications in approximately 6 months after ITA. Upon approval, you receive your Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR) and land in Canada. VMC provides post-landing guidance and settlement referrals.
VMC consultants are regulated by the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (CICC) and specialize in South Asian immigration profiles.
VMC is based in Toronto — the hub of Sri Lankan-Canadian life. VMC understands the local community, settlement landscape, and employment market.
VMC assists with coordinating certified translations of Sinhala or Tamil documents required for IRCC applications, including birth certificates, marriage certificates, and employment letters.
With deep family ties between Sri Lanka and Canada, family sponsorship applications are common. VMC handles spousal sponsorships, dependent children, and PGP filings.
VMC identifies every legitimate CRS point available — spouse profile inclusion, French language bonus, valid job offer points — to maximize competitiveness in Express Entry draws.
No hidden costs. VMC charges fixed service fees disclosed upfront before any retainer is signed.
